With our own Ron Jarnagin as this year's Society President, it will be a very exciting year. Ron's presidential theme is Sustaining ASHRAE Through Leadership, and for those who have had the pleasure of working with Ron, you know that he is the right person to lead the charge.

 

 

Our Chapters are up to the challenge. We are planning informative meetings; technical and leadership training; as well as providing great networking opportunities to assist our members in achieving their goals.

As a region, we had two milestone Anniversary's. Congratulations to British Columbia Chapter who will host a celebration of its 60th Anniversary in January and the Mid-Colubmia Chapter who will celebrate its 30th Anniversary in December.

I would like to personally thank the volunteers of both Chapters for their hard work and dedication. Congratulations!

Region XI and the Southern Alberta Chapter are making plans to host the 7th Annual Global Cold Climate HVAC Conference in November of 2012. The range of topics includes energy and sustainability in artic environments; building technology for people in the arctic; indoor environment and health; challenges for remote areas; cold climate building envelopes and moisture management; HVAC system operation and maintenance; and cold climate standards, codes, regulations and requirements.
